2 candidates who won the preliminary count for National Assembly seats in Karachi lost after the count was completed.
In National Assembly Constituency 241, PTI-backed Khurram Sher Zaman initially won but was later defeated by PPP’s parliamentary candidate Akhtar Baig.
In the same constituency, Farooq Sattar of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan was also a candidate who got only 494 votes.
Khurram Sher Zaman says that the results after 30 hours showed that the candidate of People’s Party was successful in the seat where I was winning with a huge lead.
The initial lead of Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Irfan Ahmed in NA-237, another National Assembly constituency in Karachi, later turned into defeat.
Irfan Ahmed lost to Asad Alam Niazi, the candidate of People’s Party Parliamentarians, while Ruf Siddiqui of Muttahida Qaumi Movement was also a candidate in the same constituency.
On the other hand, Haq Du Tehreek is leading on National Assembly seat 259 from Gwadar, but Form 47 has not been issued by the Election Commission.
In Balochistan itself, Mehmood Khan Achakzai of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party is leading from NA-2, but Form 47 has not been issued for this seat as well.
