Candidates are not allowed to put up posters, pamphlets or banners larger than the prescribed size during election campaign.

Election Commission has issued new guidelines for political parties and independent candidates, violation of which will be actioned.
According to Election Commission guidelines, posters should not be more than 18 inches in length and 23 inches in width, handbills, pamphlets and leaflets can be 9 inches in length and 6 inches in width, while banners should not be more than 3 feet in length and 9 feet in width.
Similarly, a portrait photo can be 2 feet long and 3 feet wide.
According to the Election Commission, it is mandatory to write the name and address of the publisher on every advertising material, while the printing of religious materials including Quranic verses is illegal.
Similarly, hoardings, billboards, wall chalking and panaflex will be completely banned.
According to the guidelines, it will be illegal to post a picture of a government official in an election campaign, while action will be taken against the candidates along with the publisher for violation.
