The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain and snowfall with strong winds in different parts of the country between February 17 and February 21.
In a statement issued by the Meteorological Department, it was said that a powerful western system will enter the country on the night of February 17, under which rains are expected in the upper parts of the country till February 18.
Regarding the snow forecast, the Meteorological Department said that moderate to heavy rain with strong winds is expected in Gilgit-Baltistan, while snow is also likely on the mountains.
The possibility of hailstorm has also been indicated at a few places in Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Kotli Bhambar, Mirpur areas of Kashmir.
There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain in the regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshar, Swabi. Meanwhile, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain in different areas of Islamabad and Punjab.
Heavy rain is also expected in some places along with heavy rain in the areas of Balochistan, Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pashin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Zhob.
On the other hand, strong winds are likely to blow in different parts of Sindh including Karachi from February 18 to 20.
The meteorological department has advised the farmers and tourists to be careful in view of bad weather conditions.
