Assistant Commissioner Taftan Waqar Kakar received the bodies of Pakistani citizens.
Consul General of Pakistan posted in Zahedan, Siddiq Baloch was also present on this occasion. Deputy Commissioner of Chagai Tufail Baloch said that the dead bodies were sent to Punjab by a special plane from Jozak Airport in Sendak.
It should be remembered that these Pakistani citizens were shot and killed by unknown persons in the city of Sarawan in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchistan province, adjacent to Panjgur district of Pakistan, on the night of January 26 and 27.
These Pakistanis were working in a car workshop in Iran for the past several years. He was killed late at night when he was sleeping in a room.
Pakistani military sources suspected the involvement of separatist organizations active in Balochistan in the attack, but the outlawed Baloch Liberation Army denied involvement in the attack.
These Pakistanis were killed at a time when two children were killed and four people were injured in a missile attack in Sabzkoh area of Panjgur by Iran in violation of Pakistani airspace this month. Pakistan then retaliated in Iran’s border town of Saravan and claimed to have targeted members of separatist organizations.
Pakistan called the killing of Pakistanis a terrorist and despicable incident and demanded an immediate investigation and Iran condemned the killing of the workers in strong terms and assured that it would not try to spoil the relations between the two countries. They will destroy elements hostile to peace.
Pakistan had also raised this issue on the occasion of the Iranian Foreign Minister’s visit to Islamabad.
