Islamabad Judicial Magistrate Shaista Kandi heard Imran Khan’s acquittal pleas in 2 cases of vandalism during the Long March, Imran Khan’s lawyers Naeem Panjotha, Sardar Masroof and Amna Ali appeared in the court.
At the beginning of the hearing, lawyer Naeem Panjotha requested that Imran Khan be summoned to court, upon which Judicial Magistrate Shaista Kundi said that first the plea of Imran Khan should be discussed, if the former Chairman PTI is brought to court. If something happens to me, who will be responsible?
Lawyer Naeem Panjotha said that the founder of PTI has been appearing before the courts by himself, Zaman Park operation was conducted, warrants were issued, the government’s job is to provide security, they want to give arguments in the presence of Imran Khan. .
Judge Shaista Kundi said that attendance on bail would have been necessary, not on application production.
Imran Khan’s request rejected
The court rejected the request of former Prime Minister Imran Khan to appear in the court.
On the plea of acquittal of founder PTI, lawyer Naeem Panjotha argued that in all the cases against founder PTI, only Emma has a role, multiple cases were registered in the same day, same role of founder PTI. Held, the notification of enforcement of Section 144 was neither issued nor informed, the plaintiff is the SHO who has no authority to register the case, not even the statements of the witnesses in the cases filed against Bani PTI.
Judge Shaista Kundi asked whether the founders have been acquitted in PTI cases before? On which the lawyer Naeem Panjutha told the court that the PTI founder had been acquitted in several cases even before this.
Later, after the arguments of Imran Khan’s lawyers were completed, the court reserved its decision on their acquittal pleas, which after some time passed the acquittal pleas.
It should be noted that cases were registered against the PTI founder in the Sahala and Lohi Bhir police stations.
