Newly appointed Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Saif Anwar Jappa has said that the Commissioner has nothing to do except coordination in the recent elections, denying the allegations made by the former Commissioner.
An emergency meeting of DROs was called under the chairmanship of Commissioner Rawalpindi Saif Anwar Jappa, DROs of district Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Rawalpindi and Murree attended the meeting.
In the meeting, the situation after the revelations of former commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatta will be reviewed.
After the meeting, while holding a press conference with the DROs, Commissioner Rawalpindi Saif Anwar Jappa said that the recent elections were conducted in a very transparent and fair manner, there was no pressure on us, we demand an inquiry into the allegations of the former commissioner.
DRO Rawalpindi Hasan Waqar Cheema said that there was no pressure on us, the election was conducted with full honesty, an independent inquiry should be conducted into these allegations.
DRO Tala Gang Khawar Bashir said that we conducted the elections honestly and under the Election Act. The Election Commission should investigate the allegations and bring out the facts.
DRO Chakwal said that she denies the allegations of the former commissioner, there was no pressure, the Election Commission should investigate these allegations.
