LAHORE: Provincial Information Minister Uzma Bukhari and League women walked out in protest over the alleged inappropriate gesture in the Punjab Assembly, while the Deputy Speaker ordered an investigation into the gesture issue.

Debate on the budget continued in the Punjab Assembly for the third day, during the speech of retired Colonel Shoaib, Uzma Bukhari got up and he said sit down, this is not a TV talk show. She and other League women walked out, but after the intervention of the Deputy Speaker, the League women ended the walkout.

An uproar also arose in the House when opposition member Hafiz Farhat started his speech with a satirical poem.

He said that his production orders were not issued during his arrest. Opposition member Rana Aftab criticized the police and demanded the release of PTI founder.

The Deputy Speaker responded to Chaudhry Moinuddin’s remarks that the world knows those who ridicule the Speaker’s chair.

Opposition member Ijaz Shafi termed the resignation of Principal Aitchison College as regrettable and said that the historical educational institution is being destroyed to waive the fees of the children of an influential person.
